PhD students: external funding can help you too. Imagine not needing to teach or provide RA support to cover your tuition/stipend, during the year or over the summer.

Between submitting a grant proposal, co-organizing a conference, chairing a search committee, being on another search committee, and teaching my classes all in the past week, I paused to fulfill my jury duty. Phew! I am tired. #juror18 #civicduty
