From the McMurdo Long Term Ecological Research site Facebook page: 'We at the MCM are absolutely devastated to have to pass the news on that our close friend and colleague, Diana Wall Diana Wall passed away on March 26.' #Antarctica #Astrobiology #ecology #LTER
All AMI traps for the Biodiversa+ (European Biodiversity Partnership) sub-pilot on invasive insects are now up and running in South Tyrol 🥳 If the weather stays this warm, they will be able to stay active for quite some time. Alpine Environment - Eurac Research Toke Thomas Høye

Fruitful discussions at #GfOE23 when presenting our Biodiversa+ (European Biodiversity Partnership) pilot study on soil biodiversity 😀Alpine Environment - Eurac Research
Over the past four decades, #alpine #plants have migrated upward by about 200m to protect themselves from rising temperatures. In a project called #UPSHIFT , a team is investigating what happens to plants at different altitudes in the terraXcube, our #environment simulator.
Yesterday, we as #AlpSoil_Lab concluded the #sWORM2 ( #SoilBON EW) sampling.
Sometimes challenging in the alpine sites: 1) due to the steepness, and 2) due to interrupting and VERY curious horned fellas 😅
Looking forward to the results!

Hey #SoilTemp community 🖐️
Did anyone experience such damages on the TOMST sun shields?
I suggest it is a combination of high radiation (loggers are at 2500m) followed by heavy summer storms (large hailstones)? ⛈️
Cheers!

A lot of #alpine #SoilBiology sampling these days.

Looking forward to the results!

Happy to share our new #AlpSoil_Lab paper about high alpine #soilfauna (1500-3000m) 🤓

It‘s still winter above the treeline, but nevertheless we did our first #AlpSoil_Lab sampling of the year to see how abandonment affects #soil #invertebrates , especially 🪱. With Michael ヘビ Steinwandter and Luigi Borruso 🔬🧬🌍
