खूबसूरत है तू,
इक पहेली है तू,
कभी अंजान सी,
कभी सहेली है तू,
कभी हँसती,
कभी रुलाती,
छुपती छुपाती,
खूब भगाती,
दबे पाँव आकर
कभी, ढप्पा बोल जाती,
ऐ ज़िन्दगी,
कितने रंग तू दिखा जाती।।

i try to capture the silky grace
of the night in an embrace
it slithered &moved ahead
like the lightening it fled
to touch the sky so full of glittering stars
& I try hard to douse the fires
of pinings & yearnings
of immense longings
stuck in a rigmarole of emotions
