As a first-generation college student, I have faced numerous challenges along the way. Nonetheless, my early investment in building a support community of mentors & peers is paying high dividends & continues to shape my path forward. There's no need to travel your journey alone.

Seeking someone looking for a two-year postbac position to get my group up and running at Yale University! We will be utilizing chromatin tracing and other multiplexed imaging approaches to study the relationship between 3D genome organization and epigenetic memory in embryos!

The number of people congratulating this former PI really speaks to how deep the misogyny in academia runs. Scientific contributions should never outweigh the duty to moral and scientific integrity. Second chances shouldn’t be given at the expense of past and future trainees

if the nsf grf is going to reject everyone based on their academic track record the least they could do is post at what GPA you shouldn’t bother applying (mine was triaged early due without further review due to my horrendous 3.49)

That amazing paper you spent years on? That amazing breakthrough you had? Very likely you built this following the work of others (very few exceptions), just as others will build off yours. Science is a continuum. Want to leave a lasting legacy in science? Be generous & be kind.

I know a very talented researcher who received the U.S. National Science Foundation GRFP in neuroscience (amazing!) but was not admitted to any PhD programs this cycle. Any PhD prgms able to consider a trainee with 3 yrs funding so they don't need to decline the award? (Can't defer it seems)
