Somebody should design USA spiritual DNA pie chart. I’d give Protestantism 80% w/equal shares for Puritans/Anglicans/Methodists/Baptists plus Quaker & Presbyterian slivers.

Institutional Methodism is gone. But Methodist optimism, egalitarianism, pragmatism, perfectionism are ingrained into USA social DNA no less than Puritan idealism.
