Behind the scenes from Friday May 10th during twilight with a television crew filming a segment on the aurora in the Mid-Ulster area. I can't say any more but it might be tv early next year. The crew added to the adventure under the epic aurora this night.

How it all began, this was the crazy scene in the western sky in twilight with a huge E-W formation of fine linear structure like a huge celestial feather. It wasn't even dark yet. nightskyhunter.com

No harm in posting another image. Southern portion of the corona radiating downwards from the sky like some kind of celestial apparition. Beaghmore May 10th. nightskyhunter.com

Another image from Friday night during the peak of the G5 storm captured between Beaghmore and Davagh in Co. Tyrone. 15mm wide angle of full frame DSLR The corona & rayed forms seemed to cascade downward in all their celestial glory in a fan of light. nightskyhunter.com

Time lapse of the epic geomagnetic storm. Almost 2000 exposures. The time lapse sequence of the corona, lasting approx 30 secs, I consider to be my finest night sky lapse ever taken in my life so I'm very happy with how that turned out. youtu.be/kuZneBPpeG0?si…

Plenty of storms intercepted today, no structure, but rich in thunder and seen my first c-gs of the season, might have one or two on video. Geomagnetic storms then thunderstorms within 3 days, love it!

Interesting today across NI, 100-800 CAPE, Cz zone rite cross Mid-Ulster on a S-N line, very cold cloud tops, slack Sly flow, low level shear, could be a few storms, flash flooding & funnel clouds!

G5 storm over fairy tree between Beaghmore and Davagh last night. An epic night which I will never forget! - that's the crescent moon setting while being surrounded by vibrant auroral rays. Will post more images later. nightskyhunter.com
