This morning I joined my Fine Gael MEP colleagues to address an EPP conference in Carlow on agriculture.

Good discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing the sector as we head into EU elections in June.

The weather is adding to the stress & pressure on farmers these days. It’s easy to feel isolated & alone. It’s more important than ever to look after our own mental health & to look out for neighbours & friends in the farming community. Pick up the phone & have a chat.

Every option remains on the table to support farmers and the agriculture sector through this difficult period.

We have paused all non-essential inspections and are co-ordinating fodder supplies. It is a resilient sector and everyone is pulling together on this issue.
