From Rags to Premium Cotton Rags: The Michael Wehunt Story

I have these days, thinking writing success is geared toward access to time I don't have - the time to interact constantly on social media, churn out books, etc. Busy people disappear fast in this industry, and it doesn't feel worth it. I try to focus on quality > quantity.

My debut horror collection, Greener Pastures, is 8 years old today! That's pushing 100 in book years, but it is still finding readers today. And I'm still grateful today.

I met James A. Moore at this Southern Gothic in Horror panel in 2017. My first collection was still new. I was daunted by the deep talent and experience beside me. James put me at ease and even complimented my work. That's the kind of man he was. It meant a great deal. Rest well.

Happy book birthday to the final book in the Indian Lake Trilogy! I slashed my way through the first two and can't wait to get splattered by the blood of the conclusion.

Michael Wehunt is repeatedly breaking my heart with this book. If you haven't read The Inconsolables, and you like a bit of grief, I urge you to seek it out. Although there's every chance it will simply manifest itself in the empty spaces carved out of your heart by loss.
