Writing talent/skill is not enough, whether you go trad or self-pub. More of the job than you’d think is marketing and promotion, and those are skills every writer needs to hone.

Things I’ve learned taking on a quasi leadership role at my day job: no one knows what they’re doing, really, and it seems at least 70% of leadership boils down to:
1. Decisiveness
2. A willingness to take the heat if shit doesn’t pan out
