My fresh thoughts today on why & how exploratory & dialogic approaches in English are so valuable & part of English’s ‘signature’ pedagogy - combined of course with strong input by teachers but not necessarily always *before* students think independently, in pairs or groups

I’m aware that I said I would discuss how we’ve changed our KS3 assessments & then ghosted everyone, sorry.
I will write a longer post about them but essentially:
• x3 assessments a year
• Assessing skills & knowledge separately
• No GCSE style questions

It always makes me sad when I hear of schools dropping drama/art department. To see drama as just an easy subject is to not look at the growth of a child’s mind & personally. No other subject can grow a kids confidence like drama.
