Participants in the anakinra arm had significantly higher mortality, presumably due to higher incidence of AKI. Trial was stopped after interim analysis by the safety board. Agree w/Ramon Bataller new strategies to treat ALD and AUD are needed.

Outstanding year at IU Tx! Based on OPTN data, we did 515 transplants (ranking 26th), including a programmatic record 189 livers (9th), 32 pancreas (4th), 9 intestines (4th), 56 lungs (24th), 205 kidneys (45th), 24 hearts (75th). So proud of this incredible team! IUSM Department of Surgery

Incredible effort in reviewing over 2000 patient records. Interestingly, a sizable number of patients had their first diagnosis of cirrhosis during their ER visits. Swetha Parvataneni identified several important leads for next steps.
