When we present our work on #ML model ownership resolution schemes (ssg-research.github.io/mlsec/modelExt…), a common question is 'will it stand up in court?' Our response, after 'we're not lawyers,' has been 'it'll likely be dealt with as a ToS violation, not in court'. Here's an example:
ResearchGate always smelled fishy. I went there periodically only to respond to paper requests . Never uploaded papers to ResearchGate. There are enough ways for authors to make their papers freely available e.g., Association for Computing Machinery's acm.org/publications/a…
