Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari to Neil on FOX Business: Expect one more rate hike this year
'We have slowed the pace of our hikes. We didn't do anything this past week,' says Minneapolis Fed @NeelKashkari. 'We are allowing the data to come to us and to try to figure out how much of an effect we're having on the economy and whether or not we need to do more.'
'We want to avoid a hard landing. 100% of us want to bring inflation back to 2% and we want to preserve a strong job market and we're all happy with the progress that we've made,' says Minneapolis Fed @NeelKashkari. 'Hopefully we've done enough but we just don't know right now.'
'The economy has continued to be quite strong... But if our interest rate increases are not slowing the economy the way that we expect, then there is that risk that we might have to go higher.'

.Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari tells Margaret Brennan he agrees with the Fed's latest assessment that a recession is no longer on the horizon, but Kashkari adds, 'that's our best case scenario.'
The Fed carried out its 11th interest rate hike since last year in an effort to bring inflation down to 2%.
'If we need to raise rates further, we will,' Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari says. 'But we're going to let the data guide us and not prejudge the outcome.'
