The tragic death of Sabina Nessa clearly shows the time to tackle the epidemic of violence against women and girls is now.
The Govt must put its money where its mouth is. There are actions the Govt can take now. We need urgent and radical change

I have written to Priti Patel MP to thank her for the HMICFRS report and to ask for an urgent discussion on #PolicingBill .
HMICFRS raises concerns that the proposed Serious Violence Prevention Duty in #PolicingBill does not explicitly inc VAWG. It must.

Thanks to HMICFRS for this extremely significant report. Zoë Billingham 💙🇺🇦🌈
To get radical change the Govt must explicitly include sexual violence + #DomesticAbuse in the defn of serious violence in #PolicingBill . It would create the transformative response needed. Gabby Bertin
Gabby Bertin is calling on peers + Govt to support her amendment to the #PolicingBill to explicitly include #DomesticAbuse & sexual violence in the definition of serious violence. This could create transformational change for victims
ICYMI- Gabby Bertin’s speech in last night’s debate on the #PolicingBill calling on peers & government support her amendment to explicitly include #DomesticAbuse & sexual violence in the definition of serious violence
It should not be down to local areas to decide whether to include #DomesticAbuse + sexual violence in the new prevention duty. These crimes are ubiquitous - there are no hot spots. It's country-side.
How comfortable would you feel to look a grieving family in the face if we leave it down to local areas to decide whether to include #DomesticAbuse + sexual violence in the defn of serious violence and they choose not to?
Lord Russell back Gabby Bertin's amendment #PolicingBill
So brave of Paulette Furse to share her experience The Sun
Refuge accommodation for #DomesticAbuse victims is the minimum. I also want to see a further legal duty on local authorities to fund vital community-based services, such as helplines and specialist support Women's Aid
