Saturday night was ugly for our Cherokee station. A (possible) small tornado took out our tower and did localized damage. We didn't measure a big increase in winds but did measure a pressure change. We've placed a temp tripod to continue data collection. #kswx NWS Springfield

The totality is heading our way, as we begin to see the sunlight fade away as we reach a peak time beginning at approx. 3:17pm at the Clymer, NY site.

Clear skies across ENY, but cloudy from central to WNY, but our Clymer site is showing some signs of promise!

Here at ETEC, students and NYS Mesonet at UAlbany scientists are launching weather balloons to help measure the eclipse’s impact on atmospheric conditions while helping test these NSF National Center for Atmospheric Research LiDAR systems to see how well the data matches.

We now have 1-min camera imagery at ALL SITES across our network until 6pm today, just for the eclipse!
