Congratulations to our boys football team for their 4-1 win against Blue Bell Hill Primary School There was some great communication and teamwork on display.

Today in nursery the children enjoyed matching adult wild animals to their young. We made comparisons and found out that most young animals look like their adult but some are different. We learnt some new names such as cub, chick and calf.🦓🦒🐅

We had a very busy forest school session today - planting peas, onions, carrots and wildflowers. Teamwork creating chalk pictures to describe how plants grow - from seeds, tubers, runners, cuttings and bulbs. Leaf painting and tarp tidying, digging, weeding and birdwatching Phew!

We celebrated our word of the week liturgy this week linked to vocation. We talked about vocation being God’s call to each of us, to serve him and others. Sister Patricia talked about her vocation in life as a nun.

What a wonderful art lesson in Year 1 today. We looked at primary and secondary colours, then used paint to imitate the work (Numbers in Colour) of the artist Jasper Johns.

Nursery have enjoyed learning about Pentecost, and how Jesus sent the Holy Spirit. There was lots of joy, fun, music and happiness today.

In Reception we made wind and fire streamers and Pentecost kites and flew them outside. 🌬️🔥

Year 4 have been investigating different circuits this morning during Science. Predicting if they would light the bulb before correcting them if they didn’t.

All the children in St Therese of Lisieux enjoyed their treat afternoon for gaining the most amount of house points last half term. They had the choice of cartoons and cakes or football. Fun was had by all.

For Science in Year 2 this week we made observations over time to find out which microhabitat woodlice preferred. We repeated our test to make improve the reliability of our results and looked for patterns.

In Year 2 we have been creating timelines of UK history and trying to work out when different castles were built using photographic evidence. It was easy to recognise an iron age fort, as nothing much was left of it and modern castles looked like grand homes. It was a challenge!

Year 6 have been learning about the relationship between right and responsibilities. As part of this learning, they researched an environmental organisation and wrote a campaign to secure some funding.

Year 6 lead collective worship today for Year 5. They planned the Liturgy around the theme of being a witness which links to our RE topic.

Nursery and Reception had a fantastic time hunting for Easter eggs yesterday! We ordered the eggs by number and then all enjoyed a chocolate egg!

This afternoon, Year 6 led us in our final liturgical prayer of our term. They shared the joy as Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey, the disciple’s confusion as Jesus washed their feet showing that He came to serve. They ended with Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice - death on the cross.
