In her capacity as the head of the Office of the National Chairman - NRM Party, Hajjat Uzeiye Hadijah Namyalo has appointed Mr Matovu Ismail as Office of the National Chairman-NRM Coordinator for Fisheries.

This appointment takes immediate effect.

Challenges in the current budgeting for road safety notwithstanding, Hon. Kasolo urged that the little funding available be utilized effectively for something core to make a case for more funding.

He noted that Parliamentary Forum on Road Safety (PAFROS) will keep negotiating nevertheless.

Representing the chairman of Parliamentary Forum on Road Safety (PAFROS), Hon. Robert Kasolo emphasises the committee's commitment to the road safety cause.

He notes that the law makers are committed to the cause and want to ensure that everyone is safe on the roads in Uganda.

Even with this five billion increment of the budget allocation to the Ministry of Works & Transport, funding the interventions is still a challenge because the money is still insufficient.

This whole situation greatly affects implementation efforts to reduce road crash prevalence.

As a result of efforts by different road safety actors, including Road Safety Advocacy Coalition Uganda 🇺🇬, the Parliament of Uganda approved a five billion increment of the budget allocation to the Ministry of Works & Transport for road safety interventions.
