Stephen Donnelly please take the time to read this powerful piece. Harrowing that patients in our healthcare system have to endure this and fight to stay alive.

“One should not fear the exposure of truth, since the truth makes us free. If it is truth, what I’ve written, then it shouldn’t make anyone afraid. If it’s not truth, it has no power, so no one need be afraid of it.” —Helen Vendler

Like most people I went to do my bit for the planet by depositing cans and plastics on a Sunday evening. Tesco Park Pointe Re-turn is not functioning. Maybe fixed tomorrow says security. A woman ahead of me was similarly spinning in circles with a weeks full of recycling.

Please support tomorrow, Friday April 12th.

Always think of my past-pupil Lisa Kinlan who died 10 years ago, aged only 16.

She had CF but still managed to play in Croke Park in a CnmB Dublin final.

Please support CF Ireland at 65roses.ie.

The amount of young women who were otherwise healthy in the news not because of their brilliance but because of an interaction with the health service and then death is harrowing. irishtimes.com/crime-law/cour…

This SN 3 wheeler was left in Newbridge outside Michael Murphy’s furniture shop by mistake. It’s now in the garda station, An SN buggy like this would have cost a fortune & the child/adult who is missing it won’t be able to do without. So pls share! Kfm Radio Kildare Now

It has always suited the State to fight individuals one at a time in the Courts. Assessment of Needs, special educational supports, Allowances and other such cases are evidence of that. Voting Yes in sets us up for way more, rather than deal systemic issues causing pain.

LilieC Dr. Rosaleen McDonagh I would suggest that you listen to the voices of people with disabilities on this. They could not be clearer.

The link in my OT for example, or this excellent piece by Dr. Orla Tinsley

Tweeted this a year ago - what we got was a lot of ‘of course the wording could be better’ and ‘it’s a step in the right direction’ when it’s clear that many don’t want any more exclusion and presumptions of care. (Think the burden bit was muted in case a deeper hole was dug.)

I've been through a medical negligence case and the stress was almost unbearable at times. To suggest that this is somehow an easy option for disabled people and carers is an outrage and betrays the level of privilege that's at play here.

Leave no one behind.

My friend represents one of many ppl whose disability resulted in homelessness - mine too. As Dr. Orla Tinsley & Siobhán Mullally (UN SR Trafficking in Persons) & others have pointed out really is an issue about intersectional feminism.

This is a well reasoned piece by Dr. Orla Tinsley outlining the reasons for a No vote on the care referendum. There are umpteen reasons to vote no. It's especially worth highlighting Orla's point that this is everyone's business. Almost everyone experiences disability at some point.
