The economy is performing very well. There are a record 2.7m people at work. For every 1 business closing, 9 are opening. To delay a Living Wage would be disproportionate and a betrayal of low paid essential workers.

Fine Gael and the government in general should remember there are two sides of the labour market, workers will not forget if promises made are not delivered. An SME test!! What about a collective bargaining test as per the govt legal obligation with the AMWD!

It’s one thing providing additional supports to specific companies in sectors the govt believe is struggling. It is another to slow down necessary and modest lab market reforms like sick pay and LW. That would be a breach of faith ⁦Peter Burke⁩
