A year ago I was called a bigot because I dared to suggest in an election that the Royal College of Psychiatrists should end its relationship with Stonewall. 1593 psychiatrists who voted for me were also declared bigots. I lost the vote (52-48%). Maybe the result would be different today.

Can anyone please explain to me why any medical organisations are still associated with Stonewall?

Sorry I couldn’t be there this year Lenny - the issue to me is that the system post 2004 builds in discontinuity.

Misuse of “mental capacity” in responding to suicidal people is a serious problem in frontline practice.

Poorly defined & understood, not part of the MH Act, but at times the basis of denying care in a crisis.

Referenced in the national #suicideprevention strategy.
