Stephen Whittle sold his FA Cup semi-final ticket to his best friend, who died at Hillsborough. Stephen was wracked with guilt for selling the ticket. On 26 February 2011, he stepped in front of a train and was killed. He left £61,000 to the Hillsborough families in his will.

Hillsborough was one of the greatest acts of gross negligence in British history: a police chief who opened the gates to an already overcrowded enclosure, and ambulance staff waiting outside the stadium, leaving LFC fans to deal with the dead and dying. Then came the cover up.

NEW: me for Voices of Academia... 'Most people going into universities had... an ethical sense of their future, a vocation... The university must be... a moral place, or it is nothing. As of now, it’s doing a pretty good job of looking like nothing'. voicesofacademia.com/2024/04/05/its…

From today, anyone who has previously committed two protest-related offences can be hit with a protest banning order that can restrict where you can go, who you can meet up with, and even how you can use the internet
