This year, according to @PavolSzalai, 'Press freedom in Albania has reached the lowest level since the creation of the World Press Freedom Index in '02.' This decline is a stark reminder of the systemic issues that continue to undermine media freedom and the safety of journalists

In the 2024 World Press Freedom Index, Serbia’s rating has fallen to an all-time low (98/180).

According to RSF’s @PavolSzalai, Serbia has been downgraded from the ‘problematic’ to the ‘difficult’ category as journalists face politically motivated attacks.

Today is World Press Freedom Day. Every country needs a free and independent media that works ethically and in the public interest. Their contribution to protection of democratic values is irreplaceable. Slovakia fell by 12 places and is ranked 29th in the RSF Index.
