No one captures the city suburbs like Ian. Privileged to live a few doors down because he makes our backyards look like this ❤️👏

If anyone fancies an early look at the first chapter of TIDEMAGIC (including amazing illustrations by Karl James Mountford), here it is, courtesy of PuffinBooks and LoveReading4Kids

I’m on a deep-dive for an article I’m writing about working-class boys in MG… and WOW! Matt Goodfellow’s ‘The Final Year’ is the gold standard! Published by Otter-Barry Books, e-v-e-r-y-o-n-e should read this 🏆📚

Do you work in children’s publishing? I've got two polls relating to an article I'm writing for the MA in Writing for Young People at Bath Spa - First up, which genre in YA do you think includes the most graphic violence?✍️

Can anyone help Cathy with this research into possible barriers faced by northern writers in getting an agent/getting published. (Cathy, this would be a good question to ask on the SCBWI Facebook page too)

Hey crowd 🩷 I'm Megan, and I write humour for the teen audience in that awkward space that sits in the midst of upper and lower . I'm also an illustrator and delving into the world of graphic novel writing.

Charlotte Taylor Louie Stowell I would say so, yes. The excitement of going to get the books and the whole day itself is lovely. Our kids have always enjoyed it.

I do remember as a child growing up in a rural setting, that a visit to a bookshop was a treat. Nearest town as a child was Northampton or Bedford. Don't remember the bookshops. Puffin Club at school was my main source!

Charlotte Taylor Louie Stowell Bookseller here! We definitely see loads of families in with their vouchers, and many then go on to buy other books as well for their kids. So, fantastic when there are easy opportunities to use them, but I know for many there aren't ❤️
