I don’t think the current settlement in the C of E regarding female bishops is perfect. I don’t think anyone does. But I don’t want to see the traditionalists forced out, and the C of E would be significantly diminished if they were.

I always commend bravery in bishops and can’t think of anything braver than someone who was at the heart of John Bercow’s team during the bullying scandal talking about ‘errors of judgment’.

So an actual Area Dean in this diocese is saying that folk like me should no longer be eligible for ordination. But don’t worry! I’ll be permitted to die in the church of my birth, so long as I’m happy knowing that I’m the last of my sort.

This is utterly ridiculous. We regularly encounter broken lifts, which take ages to service and no way of knowing when they’re fixed. Travel by tube with a wheelchair is often an ordeal. With no car, it’s not much fun.
