#HappeningNow : Touring the wet pan station at the #Kayonza mine site in Uganda. The wet pan station processes ore in all weather, eliminating the need for sun drying. It is suited for wet ore and uses three heavy wheels to grind the ore and extract gold. #MakeMercuryHistory

#HappeningNow : Touring one of the #Kayonza mine sites' modernised pits where ore is mined (called a shaft). The shaft is 300ft deep with tunnels where the ore is found along gold veins. Ore is extracted using a pulley system, a shift from traditional methods.
