Biden stumbled tonight but in a speech that ran almost an hour (or just a bit longer), 'dithering' is not an accurate description of tonight's #SOTU . Still, Senator Britt has done a good job, and if Trump likes it, perhaps she jumps up into the VP fray.

After the #SOTU , President Biden is heard thanking top military brass and tells them that everywhere he goes, world leaders tell him they need a strong U.S. - that there is so much at stake.

RI Congressman Gabe Amo gets one of the last photo ops with President Biden at #SOTU2024 and Biden greets him warmly.

It will be important to see what Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, chairwoman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus has to say about this speech tomorrow and in the days ahead.

SOTU Closing: I see a future where you defend democracy, you do not diminish it. Restore freedoms, not take them away...a future where the middle class has a fair shot & the wealthy have to pay their fair share. Where we save the country from the climate crisis & gun violence.

Speaker Johnson has handled the night pretty well for his first time in the SOTU chair and he kept his caucus mostly in line.

Finally a joke about Biden's age - by Biden himself.
