Few things are as inevitable as the word “battle” appearing in the obituary for a patient who died of cancer

But we need to reframe the disease in a manner that does not imply cowardice or ignobility for level-headed refusal of treatment

Thinking first of the people on the bridge. But the mind wanders to a port city strangling. All the people who rely on ships in and out. The auto-ship imports, Domino Sugar, coal exports, dockwork, whatever container traffic we didn't lose to Norfolk. Industries. Jobs. Families.

Cancer doesn’t care

It doesn’t care about age (my youngest patient is in their teens, my oldest beyond 100)

It doesn’t care about race (but can perpetuate inequity)

It doesn’t care about status (see above, especially when employment is tied to insurance)

But *we* all can care

is a life-threatening, progressive, ultra-rare disease that affects only ~150 Americans. But we’re showing up strong in DC with more than 20 of us advocating for a potentially life-saving treatment! U.S. FDA

This is infuriating. For Americans who rely on wheelchairs to live our lives fully, breaking our wheelchairs is like breaking our legs.

In 2023, we shouldn’t still be seeing our mobility devices treated like this by airlines.

americanair must do much better.

I see the discourse has gone from “Define ‘beheaded’” to “Shaun King did not, in fact, get your child out of a Hamas dungeon.”

600 days since Russia launched their full-scale invasion of Ukraine; a war Moscow expected to win within weeks, possibly days.

Hundreds of thousands of Russian casualties and trillions of rubles later, Ukraine still stands.

I believe that only a Jewish country would have to post photographs of murdered infants so people would believe it. Honestly, world, ask yourselves why your Jewish quarters are empty. Contemptible.

Imagine the worst things possible that can be done to humans.

Hamas did all of that and more to Israeli civilians. Babies beheaded. People burned alive in their homes. Women raped and dragged through the streets.

Don’t look away.

Right. On. Cue.

So predictable.

Here’s an idea. We, the wealthiest nation in human history, could provide support to two key democratic allies under existential threat at once.

And we could do it while funding universal healthcare here at home btw.

It's impossible to escape the impression that Netanyahu was so focused on fighting a culture war against internal Israeli opponents his government failed to detect a very real war rapidly approaching. An astonishing intelligence failure on the scale of 1973.

The X/Twitter update to remove headlines from link previews has also completely broken their accessibility.

The link/image can't be tabbed to with the keyboard, and it's been totally hidden from screen readers.

Here's how to make your links accessible until it's fixed (thread)

Whatever the reasoning behind this decision, the seemingly interminable 'will they won't they' ATACMS saga just makes the administration look incredibly weak and indecisive; something American adversaries will not ignore.

A traditional clinical endpoint isn't the only indicator that an investigational therapy holds promise. Patient experience data can be utilized to inform clinical development, contextualize the impact of a treatment, support regulatory submissions, & more. bit.ly/3sXHZJY
