Pelicans in flight. Look at that wingspan! Their wingspan can reach up to 3m, which makes the pelican Australia's largest flying bird. They are found in estuarine waterways, rivers and lakes throughout Australia.

Lest we forget…
It’s Anzac Day today, our second in Australia. A day of remembrance that marks significant moments when Australians fought in conflict and war from 1914 to present day.
We saw two old war planes fly over this morning commemorating these times. #AnzacDay2024

My fascination with pelicans keeps growing. I managed to snap a pic of one of the pelicans catching a fish the other day, but didn’t have a decent camera so photo not that great, you might just see the fish in it’s gular pouch. #BirdsSeenIn2024 #birds

Yesterday’s exploration took us to another beach. At low tide, a beautiful safe swimming area for young kids. A great place to walk as well, with one side for dogs on leashes and the other no dogs allowed. #walking #ExploreEverywhere #familyfun

After I woke up this morning, with a yawn & stretch I opened the curtains. Saw this cutie pie. The pictures aren’t great because I took them through the window but I think it’s worth sharing, don’t you?

We’re not traveling, but we’re certainly on a voyage of discovery. Having moved to a new area recently, we have places to explore.
This little grassy path led us to a secluded little beach between mangrove trees giving us just a tiny glimpse of a little section of Moreton Bay.

Last week after a few days of regular heavy rain, Moreton Bay looked rather murky. Moreton Island and a tanker on the horizon.
