We examined how childhood maltreatment relates to the location & intensity of unpleasant somatic symptoms in adulthood, using data from over 2,000 people surveyed during daily life via mobile app.

The pattern suggests that people report being more lonely in younger adulthood, become less lonely through midlife, and report higher loneliness again in older adulthood.

New study: We examined stress accumulation with a hierarchical model, finding total area under the curve (AUC) of stress-factor scores as the top predictor for health outcomes. AUC shows promise for tracking stress from midlife to late adulthood.
