Great to see this fun project published with Andrew Goffinet, Nicholas Saleh santiago ramirez Maddie Ostwald & Stephen Buchmann. We found that the larger valley carpenter bee males with darker glands produce higher amounts of pheromone, which acts as a long-range attractant.

Comparison of body weights of solitary bees from Cazorla mountains (SE Iberia) obtained in 1990-97 and 2022-23 supports predictions of body size decline following current climatic warming ( 'size shrinking effect'). I'm happy to have found a use for data I took 30 yrs ago 🙂
