This quarter, Canada is head on with top press freedom violators Russia and Turkey in arresting (charging) journalists for doing their job. Just let that sink in for a little.

If you knowingly arrest a journalist who is clearly documenting a newsworthy event, Police Montréal , then your actions are indistinguishable from intimidation and erosion of press freedoms in your country.

Montreal Police must immediately drop these charges against Savanna.

The Canadian Association of Journalists is closely monitoring this case.
