Next month, my workplace is taking on Australia's Biggest Bushwalk to help raise much needed funds for critically endangered fauna (like this beautiful pink cockatoo). If you'd like to contribute to our team, or sign up yourself, please visit: australiasbiggestbushwalk.org.au/icon-science

We have 14 little galaxiid fish species that have a greater than 50% chance of extinction by 2040 if we continue with business as usual. We have known this since 2020 and there has been NO substantial action. Where is the national outrage over governments asleep at the wheel?

We need more renewables projects, but it's important they're built in the right places (not where hundreds of hectares of biodiverse forest and threatened species habitat would have to be bulldozed, for example) theguardian.com/australia-news…

This is terrible but unsurprising news. It's a grave reflection on governments that this fish is likely to go extinct because of decisions they've made. The Victorian Government continues to fund breeding and release of trout. Despite knowing the impact of trout on native fish.

Fire breaks can be important, but we do not need to clear habitat for endangered species in the process. These are some of the last old growth trees left after logging and fires - we need to protect them Biodiversity Council

A note to men who don’t get it: when a baby’s breastfeeding you literally have to be attached to them most of time & cant be separated for more than an hour or so

So if you don’t allow bf babies in public places, you’re actually saying women/mums aren’t allowed in those places
