This distressing letter from residents living beside the chaotic & evergrowing tent encampment at the IPO shows complete dereliction of duty by Govt. While there is sympathy for the men there this has gone on for 12mths & the impact on local residents & businesses is intolerable.

Good to see this position of night time economy tsar finally filled. Revitalising the capital’s evening economy is important to support the cultural and creative life of the capital. Well done to the Councillors who pushed for this role, which has worked well in many other cities

At today's Dublin City Council Housing SPC I raised urgent need for resolution of the crisis at the huge tent encampment on Lower Mount St. It's disgraceful that for 2nd time in 12mths Govt allowed this to happen in Dublin's city centre. 150 tents, piles of waste & disease spreading

Nice long shadows on the Grand Canal late this afternoon

Good to see that our lighthearted seagull calendar is helping shift the conversation on how waste is collected in the city - moving us towards ending the era of flimsy bin bags on Dublin's streets that seagulls can rip open.

The council plans to push more city residents to switch from bags to bins for rubbish. It’s part of an effort to keep streets cleaner, by reducing the number of bags available for seagulls, foxes and other creatures to tear open, a council official says.
