~2 years ago, we caught this Amazonian pleco in the River Kelvin, Glasgow, while netting minnows. There were two others in the same area, probably released from a home aquarium. Read about it here and the invasive potential of these fish in our new paper: reabic.net/journals/bir/2…

📢Job alert! I'm looking for a POSTDOC IN ANIMAL (FISH) ECOPHYSIOLOGY to join my research group at DTU Aqua (DTU) in Denmark. Focus is on understanding variation in how steeply metabolic rate changes (scales) with body size. PLEASE REPOST! More info: efzu.fa.em2.oraclecloud.com/hcmUI/Candidat…

It is often assumed that correlations btwn metabolic rate and behaviour can cause indirect selection. By examining numerous behaviours, our paper by Amélie Crespel shows when this 'phenotypic gambit' is incorrect & why genetic correlations are needed: royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/full/10.10…

Only a few weeks left to apply for this PhD project in my lab!

There is a lot of flexibility in the project aims, so this is a great opportunity for a motivated student who wants to define their own research questions and choose a specific direction within this broad topic

Fantastic new analysis by Marie Levet showing non-linear, dose-dependent effects of immune system stimulation on metabolism and gene expression in a damselfish species. This was a very complex dataset and an amazing effort pulling it all together. cdnsciencepub.com/doi/10.1139/cj…
