Hear No Evil is set in 1817 and inspired by the real-life case of Jean Campbell, who was the first Deaf person to be tried in a Scottish court. At the beginning of the book, Jean is being held in Edinburgh’s decaying Tolbooth prison. #HearNoEvil #HistoryWritersDay #Fiction

Still practising 🦄 Kathryn Koromilas 🌻 ‘s The Stay-At-Home! Literary Festival morning meditative-writing ideas - slowly encountering the day via writing, hand-copying a poem, etc. V helpful & #mindful refinement of morning pages idea - do work with her if you get chance!
I've been lucky to work with Penny Batchelor - Author as part of the virtual The Stay-At-Home! Literary Festival and it will be a real shame if she and other authors won't be able to take part in events and festivals when 'normality' returns.
I have been working on a poem for *weeks*, inspired by one of the meditative writing sessions with 🦄 Kathryn Koromilas 🌻 at The Stay-At-Home! Literary Festival and I’m still waiting for that pop, when it all fits together like Tetris!
