The good news is that, since I did 'pay-as-you-go' for one class each semester, I have no idea how much I actually paid for my doctoral degree - and I don't want to know!!! 😀

Once I got the degree, many doors were opened. State work groups. Adjunct professor. It was worth it!

Just under 10 years (9 years).
I often took one class per semester and traveled to the WSU Tri-Cities campus once a week for class (3 hours round trip). Last class of my program was offered synchronous online via a distance learning classroom at Yakima Valley College. Old school!

This reminds me of when I was considering my doctoral program.

I told my wife, 'It might take me 10 years to get a doctorate.'

She said, 'I guess you need to decide, in 10 years, do you want to be 10 years older with a doctorate or 10 years older without a doctorate.' 🤔

Learning Walks by our admin team at Wide Hollow Elementary. We saw adults 'pushed-in' to the classroom instead of students pulled-out. Small group instruction with every student on-task. Highly effective practices. West Valley School District
