Discussion on verification and compliance within the #1972BWC Working Group began after a 22-year hiatus. Verification is an integral part of any international treaty in the field of disarmament and arms control.

I was extremely proud to meet #Youth4Biosec fellows and to follow their visit to Geneva closely with a camera and a smile 📸

Initiatives like this one are vital for emerging leaders and for the future of biosecurity and #1972BWC 🔬

United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research & VERTIC just launched a public access Database on national implementation measures by the States Parties to the #1972BWC , a valuable effort designed to “strengthen and understand the different approaches to the implementation of the convention from around the world”

France is fully engaged to strengthen the Biological Weapons Convention as part of the Bureau of its working group. Aiming at significant steps before #1972BWC reaches 50 & #1925Geneva Protocol 100 years.
