From “just another indie band” to critically adored megastars, #radiohead “The Bends” is one of the best albums of all time. I take this album over anything else they have done. “Street spirit” album closer perhaps the best since “Time it’s time”. Exceptional.
#frankturner gig early on a Sunday morning - excellent way to start the day!
New songs sounded great and played the cd on the drive home. Suspect it will appear on my #366albums later in the year!

#davidsylvian 4th album is something to get lost in. My preference is the version that includes “forbidden colours” which remains a high musical benchmark of the 80s.

#teenagefanclub at their glorious best. Album 6 almost effortless at this stage. Love’s “ain’t that enough”, Blake’s “I don’t want control of you” and McGinley’s “I don’t care”, a band blessed with songwriting talent

How do you follow a critically acclaimed debut album? By going even further, more tracks & more emotion. The stunning second Tindersticks album is a joy, “tiny tears” is immense.

Finally got to pick this up from my local indie, the much underrated “Watusi” by #theweddingpresent . “Spangle” is right up there with my fav tracks by the boy Gedge. Lots of energy & enjoyment blasts from this album so great to get the 30th anniversary (!!!) version

You want glorious 80’s indie - then The Wonderstuff’s debut is a must. So many great tracks, so much fun, so much joy. Simply a class act.

#spiritualized wall of sound 4th album didn’t break the shadow of the 3rd album (L&GWAFIS) but deserves its own light. It is stunning. “Do it all over again”, “Don’t just do something”, “straight & the narrow”, and chart success with “stop your crying”. A belter!

#arcadefire 3rd album contains fan favourite “ready to start” and, for that alone, it’s worth the price. The band drift into the mainstream whilst staying true to their vision.

Sometimes an album is so good it gets critical acclaim & love it but it slowly gets washed away. #teenagefanclub are an exceptional band and this album is another classic in a line of them. Try “don’t look back” or “Sparky’s dream” though just simply play it in full

Got a lot of love for this album & second time I’ve included #weddingpresent on the list. Another truly great indie 80s album. From “brassneck” & “Kennedy” guitar happy singles to the blistering “Granadaland”, if you like lovelorn lyrics matched by guitars - get this!

How did I get to #May and the #LocalElections without mentioning #Gene debut album? My favourite one by a long way. “London, can you wait?”, “truth, rest your head” and, of course, the epic title track. “Olympian”. Songs to sing loudly to!
