This thread. The fact that sharing viewership data was the one thing the AMPTP absolutely refused to negotiate with the DGA on is a big reason I voted no to ratify the deal. The streamers, particularly Netflix, are hiding something. Whether it’s good or bad remains to be seen.

There is one thing I didn’t mention from top line deal points that I really want to shout out as being awesome, and that’s the studios’ diversity language now including all historically-underrepresented, specifically mentioning LGBTQ+ and Disability. Huge. Will prob do a video.

DGA members, an FYI. Your negotiating committee members seem more invested in arguing on the internet than protecting your rights or listening to experience. The AMPTP is fleecing you, but they won't listen.

Buckle up! Here comes a long one! Don’t know who wrote, but it was passed along to me. This is the clearest rundown on why the DGA's deal regarding AI isn't even close to truly protecting us, particularly anyone who isn't at the very top of the food chain.

So the vote to ratify the 2023-2026 agreement between the DGA and AMPTP ends a week from Friday and I have decided to vote “no.” I know I have a “rock thrower” POV a lot of the time and I often have to check and re-check that instinct. Like A LOT!

Per DGA friend, unlike contract summary, the BA/FLTTA language DOES NOT include LGBTQIA+ or Disability. DGA left it to AMPTP lawyers, who created another legal loophole.

🧵🧵🧵Time. Here’s why the WGA Strike has a lot to do with IATSE. We have seen already how negotiations and labor as a whole is inter connected. The AMPTP’s strategy here is multi-pronged.

Everyday there’s news of shows and movies being delayed but I thought they wouldn’t feel it and that they would be fine without us.

Also, any delays on shows or films is because of AMPTP. Not writers.

Today I had lunch with a former boss who asked me if writers were getting desperate. I shrugged; most of us have had hiatuses waaaay longer than this. Crazy how the companies have accidentally trained us to be extremely formidable opponents. Morale remains high in Week 7!

I remember seeing these rumors at the end of April. They were all idle speculation & bullshit.
