That’s a wrap! ICM 1/48 Mk16 Spitfire in the personal markings of Sqn Ldr Karol Pniak, 308 Squadron April ‘45. He survived the war being involved throughout with 7 confirmed kills. He retired to Poland where he died aged 70 in 1980. Perfect timing for #BattleOfBritain80
What a picture this is...
Colourised by someone I know - looks like a new BBC drama, not 80 years ago. Not sure you can act how frazzled the Squadron Leader looks here.

Today I was honoured to attend a service for those who fought in the Battle of Britain 80 years ago.
Their success against the Luftwaffe preserved our freedom and turned the tide of the Second World War.
We will never forget their bravery and sacrifice.

The Battle of Britain best represents our undying loyalty to the Crown - and our unbreakable, ancestral bond with the United Kingdom. There has been no other country in the world which Canadians have fought beside and aided in times of crisis as much as Britain #BattleOfBritain80
Despite coming late into the battle in August 1940, 303 Squadron became the highest scoring unit of the Battle of Britain, claiming at least 126 enemy aircraft. Curator Craig Murray tells us more: youtu.be/ZMVkIpt_yZ8 #BattleofBritain80
Honored to be at Westminster Abbey today to remember all who served. #BattleOfBritain80
80 years ago, Great Britain standing alone against German took to the skies & fought the best Germany had to offer & defeated them, turning the tide of the war. The bravest of the brave took on the mightiest of the mighty & won. We owe you everything.
