It's #BlackHikersWeek !? Yes! I'm not a birder ๐ฆ but I love hiking. Had to run on many mountains & desert trails for cross country ๐. Now, I've slowed down the pace (significantly) to take in all the views!! Excited to connect with more #blackpeoplewhohike #BlackInNature
I became immersed in botany because of the slow hiking we did in my plant tax class. Iโd never hiked before, but I learned hikes are not always about the destination. The magic in finding new things about the world you live in and yourself makes the hike worth it #blackhikersweek
Itโs #BlackHikersWeek . And in that case. I usually go hiking with my camera. I love the outdoors, but being able to video and tell a story is the main reason I go hiking!
10/10 would recommend chasing waterfalls!๐๐พโโ๏ธ๐๐พโโ๏ธ

My mom never took us hiking since she didn't have that opportunity growing up-- I now know she loved the outdoors even back then but that she felt out of place hiking. My first hike was when I was 18 and I never looked back! #BlackHikersWeek #Blackpeoplewhohike #BlackinNature
Did someone say #BlackHikersWeek ? I love being outdoors and taking in the endless beautiful sights. Make sure yโall check out #BlackPeopleWhoHike to connect with diverse outdoor lovers.
Couldn't resist posting a #bird for #BlackHikersWeek . Hiked up a hill w/ this rehabbed tawny eagle so she could get some exercise. Was with my friend Simon Thomsett, one of the world's top #raptor experts ๐ฆ ๐ฆ๐ชถ #HikingWhileBlack #BlackinNature
There's not a lot of hikers who look like me because I'm fat, too! Trekking poles help navigate terrain and take some of the strain off my knees. These are @blackdiamond and made just for shorties like me! #melaninbasecamp #unlikelyhikers #BlackHikersWeek #blackpeoplewhohike
Today concludes #BlackHikersWeek ! Go for a walk, wear a mask. Next time you see a black person on the trail, donโt act surprised, โkay?? The outdoors are for everyone ๐ #WeHikeToo
Makes me smile seeing the #Blackpeoplewhohike posts as part of #BlackHikersWeek ! I've always enjoyed being out in nature as a kid & as an adult I've been fortunate to hike in some amazing places. I enjoy the sense of wonder I get while hiking esp. in the mountains #BlackInNature

Itโs #BlackHikersWeek so thought Iโd join in on the fun! Ive been walking around in the woods for as long as I can remember, whether itโs been in the South Georgia pines, New England forests, or alpine meadows out west! #BlackPeopleWhoHike #BlackInNature
I feel so validated with this whole week. So seen. And Iโm so here for all my black hikers. Letโs connect in the mountains. #BlackHikersWeek
