Excited to be chairing this session at 2023 with (CLES) Centre for Local Economic Strategies, exploring the failures of regeneration practice and development activity to date and the emerging progressive alternatives! 🏗️🛠️🌱

🌟 What an inspiring day at the (CLES) Centre for Local Economic Strategies’s on building community wealth. Really powerful insights in the discussions. Plus, loved co-leading the Ancoats walking tour with Ellie Radcliffe, exploring Manchester as a place in flux.

Interesting hearing about the high costs of housing in cities on the - big contrast with former coalfield areas where some former pit areas have rows of empty houses.

Building community wealth and growing former coalfields can boost them and reduce the heat on cities

That's a wrap!

  is over for another year.

We've had a fantastic day discussing , the role of the private sector, and the relationship between local economies and the global economy.

It was great to hear everyone come together to come up

Great panel discussion in the Grow Your Own session at - really agree with the sentiment from Gail about the biggest barrier to community wealth building in the public sector is in attitudes not the law.
