We are bringing some colour today with these eye-catching designs by former pupil Owen Jones (1809-1874).
These hand painted drawings form part of a body of work that went on to be published in 'The Grammar of Ornament' in 1856.

Both before and after the institution of the #NHS , offering healthcare to officers was a valuable recruiting tool, with divisional and chief surgeons and later a Medical Centre as part of the complex at Hendon. #Archive30 #ColourfulArchives
This lovely colour-coded map shows the Surgeon's districts of Glasgow, c.1831. The surgeon assigned to each district was responsible for visiting the poor for free.
