From the summer, #communitygroups can bid for up to £250,000 matched funding (with some exceptions) through the £150 million #CommunityOwnershipFund to help them to buy local assets to run as community-owned businesses e.g. pubs, theatres, shops, or local sports clubs.

Congratulations to the #combiz that have received #CommunityOwnershipFund awards. @theoldhornpub, Spennithorne; The George, Wickham Market, East Boldre Community Stores Chapel project; Fishers Arms Horncliffe Community Pub Buyout Horncliffe; Friends of the Black Horse Cranham; Salusbury Arms Tremeirchion.

The #CommunityOwnershipFund has opened for Round 3 to help save valued community assets.

The cap on funding has also gone up to £1m. In the past, we’ve saved pubs, clubs and sports fields.

I have included 5 ideas that are a MINIMUM of what Levelling Up could be and I hope the next PM commits to this GE winning policy

In the 2021 Budget announcement in March, Chancellor of the Exchequer #RishiSunak announced measures to set the UK on a path for recovery.

Once purchased, WIrral Arts and Culture Community Land Trust would be in a position to apply for funding to the #CommunityOwnershipFund , Arts Council England National Lottery Heritage Fund and others to buy back or lease Ron's and run a #communityarts programme.

There's been no mention of #LevellingUp in the early days of the Conservative party leadership race & so it is good to see a Conservative Metro Mayor, Ben Houchen seeking pledges from candidates. Would add clarity around #UKSPF & #CommunityOwnershipFund to the priority list too.

#Bury has been awarded £1 million to bring the “historic” Gigg Lane stadium “back to life”.

The #CommunityOwnershipFund grant will transfer ownership of the ground to the community & reopen it for 2022/23.
