The haemorrhaging of doctors from our health service has never been worse

Our Department of Health and NI Executive are unwilling to commit to negotiations for DDRB plus additional pay uplifts for 24/25 which are essential to restore our pay, retain our profession and fix the NHS crisis

We are at the point where 2023/24 pay uplifts for dentists in N Ireland are being implemented over a year late, at a time when we will soon be anticipating DDRB’s recommendations for 2024/25 being published.

Everyone loves the free market, until the free market creates workforce issues. NHSE, DDRB and DoH has eroded many fundamental components to an enjoyable experience as a doctor, and this is the result. We train the best, and do nothing to retain them.

Resus Pieces Junior Doctors It's a weird position ATM because how does the DDRB even make a recommendation with a consolidated uplift for the previous year being negotiated at the same time? I guess the DDRB becomes somewhat irrelevant for us while we remain in dispute?

Where on earth is the DDRB report?
Is the government telling it what to award??
