Day 2 of #DMMinfectious started with a #malaria medley: emergence of drug resistance in African #Plasmodium isolates from Alfred Amambua-Ngwa, and the origins of P. falciparum, P. vivax and P. malariae as #zoonoses from African apes.
How does #Candida auris stick to abiotic surfaces? Dr. Teresa O'Meara gives a great talk about #Cauris adhesion molecules that use hydrophobic and cation-pi interactions (like mussels use) to colonize catheters, etc. #DMMinfectious
