Congressional Republicans – the very same politicians who who passed billions and billions in tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy – now say we have to cut nutrition support for families in need.

Attacking SNAP isn't a budget solution. It's just cruel.

Republicans racked up $7.8 trillion in debt under Trump and passed outrageous tax giveaways for the ultra-rich.

Now, they're pushing cuts to nutrition assistance for hungry families, saying we 'can't afford' to help Americans feed their kids. It's outrageous.

If Republicans actually wanted to help families succeed, they'd support raising the minimum wage, making child care more affordable, and extending the Child Tax Credit. But they don't.

Cutting SNAP just punishes struggling families.

We heard someone was passing around a cheat sheet in class and took the opportunity to grade it. Suffice it to say... it contained a lot of red lines.

SNAP has been a red line for House Agriculture Committee Democrats since we began negotiating the over two years ago.

The latest Republican ploy is to cut nearly $30 billion in future SNAP benefits through changes to the Thrifty Food Plan.

I reject this proposal outright.

Amazing visit to @WSCAH—food is a human right & we need to treat those in need with dignity! Talking with providers, advocates & people experiencing food insecurity about how important it is to and support programs that empower & uplift local efforts to end hunger.

SNAP already has work requirements and nearly all SNAP recipients who can work-- do work.

Adding additional, punitive work requirements to the program is unnecessary and creates more burdens.
