This partial skeleton found near All Hallow's Convent, Ditchingham, Norfolk, identified as a young muntjac, most likely killed by a lynx, jungle cat or 'wildcat-sized beast.' Can't completely rule out a fox. Photos: © Tommy McCarthy.

Can anybody identify this partial skeleton found near the old nunnery y (All Hallow's Convent) in Ditchingham, just over the Norfolk border?
Men's boot for scale, witness thought it was a muntjac or 'young deer' with head and limbs missing. Photos: © Tommy McCarthy.

Working with two very different early 17th-century maps today - the first one is of Ditchingham Hall in 1615 showing the old hall (MC1762/2 Norfolk Record Office) The second one shows the complex open field furlongs in East Barsham in 1641, now long gone (LEST/HC/2)
