My son was labeled as naughty and a master manipulator by a man from SEND.... Went to a PRU, after 5 years he was finally assessed etc had an EHCP in place and was moved to a SEN school because he's not naughty he's autistic. Thankfully he passed his GCSEs and is in college.

I'm appealing my son's EHCP. The LA is ignoring due process & have implied I just rock up and state my case. No submissions, no bundle swap, no x-examination, no expert witnesses, no expert evidence.

I just rock up.

I’m baffled daily by the number of professionals who think EHCP’s are a magic bullet.

The vast majority of mainstream schools are either going above and beyond what is stated within an EHCP or cannot meet the needs of what is stated in an EHCP.

EHCP’s are not the answer.

Pls do read and share. Young disabled people in England, at least have an #EHCP until 25 (I know it doesn’t guarantee support). But youngsters in NI don’t even have that option.

essexcc LG & SC Ombudsman Essex County Council etc can now confidently extend every EHCP deadline for every child by 6 weeks (maybe push to 8?) . We all know they will.
