Today we are celebrating the 20th aniversary of the big #EUenlargement of 10 countries on May 1st 2004. All 10 flags were raised in #TheHague today at a ceromony arranged by Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken , European Commission and the 10 embassies
UNDP played a key role in supporting the Turkish Govt.🇹🇷 in partnership with the municipalities after the devastating 2023 earthquakes.
We participated in the #EUEnlargement Day held by European Committee of the Regions to share best practices to improve cooperation in crisis management & reconstruction.
Today we celebrate that 🇨🇾 🇨🇿 🇪🇪 🇭🇺🇱🇻 🇱🇹 🇲🇹 🇵🇱 🇸🇰 🇸🇮 joined the EU in 2004.

On May 1st, we mark #20YearsTogether since the 2004 #EUEnlargement , the largest in history.
Citizens of 🇨🇾 🇨🇿 🇪🇪 🇭🇺 🇱🇻 🇱🇹 🇲🇹 🇵🇱 🇸🇰 🇸🇮 joined the EU and have benefited from freedom of movement, economic growth, prosperity, and stronger rights.
On 1 May 2004, people of 10 extra countries became EU citizens: #EUenlargement . We spoke to future 'ERC community' participants from these countries, asking what inclusion meant for them.
